The FBA New Selection program makes it easier for sellers to offer new products through FBA.

For a limited time, you can get free storage, liquidations, and return processing for eligible products that are new to FBA. You may also qualify to receive a monthly average rebate of 10% on qualifying sales. Once enrolled, you can use these benefits for an unlimited number of new parent ASINs each year.

ASINs
“ASIN” stands for “Amazon Standard Identification Number.” It’s a unique 10-character alphanumeric code assigned to every product listed in the Amazon store. ASINs identify your products and help Amazon track and manage its catalog of products efficiently.

Products can also have parent or child ASINs, which means they are related to one another by certain identifiers like size, color, or flavor. A parent listing is used to connect child products and allows customers to shop variations like different sizes or colors from a single product detail page. For example, if you’re selling the same shirt in different colors, you’d create a parent listing for that shirt and the color variations customers can choose are considered child products.

What are the benefits of the FBA New Selection program?

Enrolling in the FBA New Selection program offers many benefits, including:

  • 10% rebate on sales: You can receive a monthly average rebate of 10% on sales of eligible parent ASINs that are new to FBA. The rebate is calculated based on the referral fees for each product category, offering a rebate between 0% and 12%. The rebate is then applied to your fulfillment costs the following month.
  • Reduced enrollment cost for Amazon Vine: You can get 25% off Vine enrollment for 3 to 10 units per parent ASIN. You’ll need to make sure your products are received at a fulfillment center and enrolled in Vine within five to 60 days.
  • Free monthly storage and liquidations for standard-size products: You won’t be charged monthly storage for the first 100 units of each new parent ASIN for 120 days after it’s received at a fulfillment center.
  • Free monthly storage and liquidations for non-standard size products: You won’t be charged monthly storage for the first 50 units of each new parent ASIN for 120 days after it’s received at a fulfillment center.
  • Waivers for returns processing: We’ll waive return processing costs for up to 20 units of each standard-size parent ASIN. Returned items have to be received at a fulfillment center within 180 days of the first date the inventory was received.
  • Global enrollment across the Amazon store: No matter how many countries you sell in, you’ll only need to enroll in the FBA New Seller program once. Program benefits will be applied to your sales in each Amazon store.
  • Limited to new-to-FBA parent ASINs: Program enrollment lets you use the waiver program benefits for unlimited new-to-FBA parent ASINs.

What are the requirements for the FBA New Selection program?

To be eligible for the FBA New Selection program, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:

  • Have a Professional selling plan.
  • Register for FBA.
  • Have parent ASINs that are new to FBA, meaning they have never been received at an Amazon fulfillment center before.
  • Have an Inventory Performance Index (IPI) of 300 or higher (if you haven’t been assigned a score yet, you can still enroll).
  • Maintain your IPI throughout your enrollment (you can be removed from the program if your IPI falls below 300 during an assessment period).
  • Enroll in the program before your first new-to-FBA ASIN is received at a fulfillment center.

How do you enroll in the FBA New Selection program?

If you’re a new seller, you’ll be enrolled in the program automatically if you create your first shipment within 90 days of listing your first buyable product.

If you’re an existing seller who meets the eligibility requirements for the FBA New Selection program, access the FBA New Selection program page and select Enroll now near the top of the page.

Enroll in the FBA New Selection program

Once enrolled, you’ll want to ensure FBA is selected as the fulfillment method for your products to unlock the benefits of the program.

Here’s how:

  • New listings: If you’re creating a new listing for a product, you can specify it as FBA inventory by changing the “Fulfilled by” section to Amazon will ship and provide customer service (FBA).
  • Changing fulfillment for existing listings: If you need to change an existing listing to FBA, go to Inventory in the main menu of Seller Central, then select Manage all Inventory. Choose the products you want Amazon to fulfill and from the Action on selected drop-down list, select Change to fulfilled by Amazon.

Your eligibility for fee waivers will be determined after you enroll. If you qualify, we’ll automatically waive the costs for your eligible products, in accordance with the program terms and conditions.

How do you know if a product is new to FBA?

To see if your product is new to FBA across Amazon’s stores, go to the FBA New Selection page or use our product search tool. You can also check if a product is new to FBA by searching with a product identifier (ASIN, EAN, or UPC).

If your product doesn’t have an ASIN, EAN, or UPC, it might still be eligible for the program. See the program terms and conditions for more information about eligibility.

You can track your FBA New Selection Program savings via the FBA New Selection dashboard. The dashboard shows your engagement with the program, including the benefits that you receive and the products that qualify.
