    Have you not heard DEI is dead? It should face resistance to diversity initiatives, a lot of it, especially from LPs. This is because the identity of the GPs is not a relevant metric of a VC firm's success and we should be blind to it. For a fund to make money, meritocracy is the only way to go. Quotas will have you reject top talent to accommodate mediocre guys... Which is in breach of your fiduciary duty! So myself I would wish to become a GP because I am great at what I do, not because I am Jewish and that firm was short on Jews. Also, if it maximises profit to do so, you can have your built-in geographic diversification, hiring guys who live in New York, Tel Aviv, etc.
