EU Transport’s Post

Our Director-General Magda Kopczyńska attended the UITP Europe Summit in Hamburg, reaffirming #EUTransport’s commitment to support national, regional and local governments, as well as public transport operators and authorities, in making public transport as attractive, accessible and sustainable as possible! 👇

A busy – but great – day for me at the UITP Europe Summit Hamburg 2025 discussing all things public transport earlier this week!    📍 First, an informative exchange with UITP’s European members representing public transport authorities on their expectations of the Commission before the end of the current mandate.   📍 This was followed by a meeting with the Ukrainian Delegation – we at #EUTransport remain committed to supporting Ukraine through our #SolidarityLanes initiative as the country continues to deal with Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified invasion.   📍 I also participated in the Summit’s first plenary session on harnessing data, technology and planning to enhance the appeal of public transport services, moderated by UITP President Renée Amilcar.    By working closely with Member States and public transport authorities and operators, I know we can create public transport networks that are attractive, accessible, sustainable and ready for our digital age. I look forward to further discussing public transport at the Urban Mobility Days in Vilnius from 30 September to 2 October. See you there!
