    Bio

    I work at the intersection of civic tech, healthcare, and digital systems design, focusing on building mission-critical tools that help ordinary people navigate moments when traditional infrastructure fails. Transitioning from a background in clinical research marketing to full-stack development, I leverage open-source solutions and AI to ship practical applications.

    I am the founder of myLolaWorks, an age-friendly work platform for seniors and older adults, and the lead architect behind Dasig.org. Originally built in response to repeated crises in Cebu, Dasig has evolved into a participatory civic action platform that connects people, organizations, and communities to create meaningful impact and coordinate civic operations efficiently. As an WordPress community lead, I’ve also had the privilege of helping organize WordCamp Cebu and WordCamp Asia.

    WordPress Origin Story

    I first stumbled into WordPress back in college when me and friends at the student publication launched a blog called Sugbo.ph. I was a writer then, focused on telling stories, while WordPress was simply the platform that got those stories online. I didn’t fully grasp its power at the time. I just knew it worked and today that little blog has grown into a community with over a million followers.

    As my career progressed, WordPress shifted from being a tool to becoming infrastructure. It powered my work in clinical research communications, digital marketing, and later civic tech for Dasig.org. It has been one of the most constant, dependable systems in my journey.

    Through local circles I discovered the WordPress community in Cebu. I never imagined I’d be helping organize WordCamps, but here I am, involved in Cebu 2023, Cebu 2024, and even WordCamp Asia 2025. My background is marketing, but these events pushed me into deeper roles around content planning, publishing workflows, and connecting web, social, and email strategies.

    Working with WordPress opened doors, sharpened skills, and showed me how open communities can build real impact. It has been a privilege to contribute and grow alongside this ecosystem. I’m looking forward to where WordPress takes all of us next.
