Push The Button
We’ve been thinking about this all morning, readers.
To the point where we’d vote for any party pledging to implement it at once.
It’s the best such moral-dilemma question we’ve ever seen, and the absolute key to the state of humankind as a species. It’s a near-perfect practical illustration of the concept of “suicidal empathy”, and suicidal empathy is the root of some of the world’s worst problems, including the debates around both gender ideology and immigration.
Because what it does is encode the idea that feelings, ego and virtue-signalling are more important than sanity or material reality.
Rationally, there is no reason for anyone to press the blue button. If you press red, you definitely live no matter what. You only risk your life by pressing blue, and you get nothing for it. And in the same way that there’s no reward for pressing blue, there’s no cost to pressing red. There aren’t a limited number of survival places. Everyone can press red and everyone will live. Nobody gets killed against their will.
Literally the ONLY thing you get out of pressing blue is the ability to tell people you pressed blue. It’s a chance to trumpet your empathy. And even then it makes no sense, because the question notes that it’s a private vote. You could press red and still TELL people you pressed blue, and nobody would know.
Press blue and you’re literally risking your actual life in order to virtue-signal, even though you could virtue-signal just as well WITHOUT the risk. That’s the “suicidal” part of “suicidal empathy”. Although the word “empathy” in that sentence would of course be better replaced with “stupidity”.
To be honest, folks, we wouldn’t even bother counting the votes. If you pressed the blue button, the machine would just fire a poison dart straight into you immediately.
(NB Let us reasonably assume, or specify, that as with all other voting scenarios we don’t let children or the mentally incapable vote, and that only those who pressed the blue button actually get killed. Any children orphaned by their parent’s idiocy will have to be brought up by red-button people, which will probably be for the best anyway.)
Wings has actually already proposed something along related lines as a method of resolving the debate about capital punishment. And we’ve often quoted a pertinent clip from one of the greatest TV series ever recorded.
Because humanity really can’t afford to keep being stupid. This isn’t even a case like in movies where the villains in No Time To Die or Kingsman: The Secret Service are baddies because they want to massively cull the human population (ostensibly for its greater good) without consent. Here, no-one’s saying “sorry but we need to do this for the environment”. The rational outcome of this experiment is that NOBODY dies.
But in the event that the planet’s dumbest (and most harmful and annoying) tossers want to VOLUNTEER, well, if we’ve already explained why they shouldn’t and they’re determined to proceed anyway, who are we to interfere with their personal autonomy?
Earth thanks you for your sacrifice, dumdums. More food and oxygen for the rest of us, and maybe we can go back to telling the truth as well.

I am more interested in the motivation here. The fact there is a condition set on the blue button, 50%, and none on the red button should concentrate the mind. Or in other words, accepting that everyone staying alive is a good thing without question, its about logic and not morality. Why would people take the option that places 49% of humanity at risk. How does that appeal to the ego? That confuses me. Where is the appeal to the ego in it? Its maybe in the wording, being a saviour, I don’t get it.
I hope if it wasn’t just a chance to look good on twitter with no consequences ( and I am confused in this instance as to why that would be the case) instead of being a choice with real consequences then X users might choose differently. Then again we have the fake social justice stuff, a child abuse cult, etc from the US and that has had consequences. However, I’ll file that questionnaire result in the elitist category (with its built in disdain for the masses) and continue to place my faith in the decency and good sense of ordinary people, who are probably not in a majority on X.
“accepting that everyone staying alive is a good thing without question”
Why would you accept that?
Aye. Well, I suppose I could bring in as man of my own conditions as I like and take a punt on the punters I despise getting the chop and vote blue on that basis. For the purposes of answering an a or b question I’ll stick with my first assumption because that is one of the two choices on offer.
You accept it as a foundational assumption. There’s no objective evidence that being alive is better than being dead, but if you start with the assumption that it is, then a lot of good things follow. We can’t prove Euclid’s Postulates, but we assume their truth and they form the basis of western mathematics. You could say, it’s a matter of faith.
“There’s no objective evidence that being alive is better than being dead”
I believe the Romans had a saying that went something like this:
“Describe no man as fortunate, while he yet lives.”
Food for thought.
Obviously the Romans couched it in their own lying, coloniser’s language. Plus, being sexist, lying colonisers, they didn’t bother considering the lassies.
Or the scenario where the majority pressed the Red button but the powers that be just kill everyone anyway cause they didn’t like that result.
Would they “bomb them tae fuck” Geri?
@Aidan
Relax. They’d deploy the F16s.
They’d never get aff the groond!
Same scenario…
There are 2 buttons:
If you push button 1, you will survive.
If you push button 2, there is a chance that you and many others will die.
How would the poll result be then?
Framing the question to get the desired “Gotcha!” result.
Not really that clever.
But..
Whit happens if you press both buttons?
Is it August?
Don’t be silly.
“…there’s no cost to pressing red.”
God might take a different view… His intelligence being infinite, and His logic somewhat more extensive and nuanced than that of humankind.
Aside from the theological implications, the question posed offers up a choice between precarious and miserable survival in a world populated with the self-centred and selfish, or living a richer, fuller existence in a kinder, sharing and more beautiful world.
Beautiful blue or wretched red, the choice is yours… although, looking around at the current state of this world, I’m reasonably certain humanity has already been asked this question and overwhelmingly opted to press the red button.
Maybe, if asked the same question again, humanity might go blue next time.
Free-will… what a curse – even the angels, having been spared it, don’t envy us.
You don’t have to sell me. I’m already pressing red.
The buttons should be black or white.
Keza Dugale cannot even push a button .
All a bit too binary and simplistic, but that is seemingly the new standard with the all to prevalent internet “like and hate” mentality of button pushing players that spend way too much of their time and life in online bubbles, and not enough time oot n aboot interacting with and working alongside the diversity of wider humanity.
“Earth thanks you for your sacrifice, dumdums. More food and oxygen for the rest of us, and maybe we can go back to telling the truth as well.”
It’s going to be a real laugh watching the internet based folk try to wean themselves off being spectators in life leveraging their existences off the backs of others, and they then have to go and actually do the real jobs that maintain the basics of life as we know it on this planet, which is unfortunately currently run by despicably behaving destructive and greedy roasters.
The notion that AI, and big corporate interests with their controls and influence over what are the essentials of sustaining our existence are acting in our best interests is laughable.

Anyway, it’s back to the soil for me on this fine spring day and planting seeds for this growing season.
The problem is that what the stupid do does tend to affect the rest of us, no matter how you slice and dice it. Bonhoeffer Stupidity was a theory, which was actually proved during the WW II Nazi hegemony, that many people are incapable of rational thought from a premise to a conclusion. Mainly because they cannot even visualise the premise in order to reach the conclusion. If you offer a false premise, you will also have a false conclusion as a matter of fact. Crawford and Boyle proved that before the 2014 Referendum on independence., and too many who are invested in the Union, believed them.
Most people want to feel good about themselves and want others to feel good about them. By the time you are old enough to not give a flying whatsit about what others think, you are also too old to have much effect. That is why the young have such a powerful proclivity towards totalitarianism. It is entirely natural for them to behave in this way because they lack the necessary brain maturity, the necessary lived experience and the necessary ability to string cause and effect together. Self-destruction is one thing; the tsunami that can build from seemingly innocuous stupidity, however, can sweep up everyone, as is actually happening in the West today. Think the Red Guards of China; Pol Pot’s teenage murderers; Russia’s Komsomol students who became KGB killers.
What has happened in society today is that young people – as a group, not necessarily as individuals – are in positions of authority and power that they are congenitally incapable of exercising wisely and fairly. They have this need to belong, to feel good about themselves and have others feel good about them, but they have little to no experience of ‘bad faith’. Many older people also lack this basic survival experience/instinct. These kinds of people believe that, if only you do good, people will always respond in a good way, which is, of course, a total fallacy as life experience teaches those who are willing to be taught and to learn.
Also, these people group others into ‘oppressed’ and ‘oppressor’ groups without understanding that being a minority or even an ‘oppressed minority’ – in their worldview, which can, often, be totally wrong – does not equate to ‘goodness’. Every group in society, all over the planet, has its ‘good’ and ‘bad’ representatives. These people simply do not understand that real evil can result both from being too lenient and liberal (Western society) or from being too authoritarian. Nature strives always for balance – the middle ground.
The worst aspect of it all is that they do not wish to learn of, or to accept, or to try and discover, any worldview but their own. In the end, if we take the Nazi regime as an example, nothing short of complete defeat of them can change things. They have to be, literally, brought so low that they cannot rise again. There is no other way. They are far too dangerous to leave to their stupidity.
“There is no spoon”
With food, energy, housing all short of supply governments will find a way to reduce the population. It already has happened.
The Cygnus exercise proved that the U.K. could not support an epidemic or pandemic but the Tories chose to save the money rather than invest in the equipment that could save countless lives.
Labour’s first move was to cut off winter allowances for the elderly before attacking the disabled.
Trump cut all healthcare for lower earners who could never afford it.
With AI above to remove millions of jobs new measures will be found.
If most governments can ignore mass murder in the Middle-East why couldn’t they do the same for you? After all they are alright.

This is another example of Colonial suppression of the mass body. A clear indication of the manipulation of colour against the free will of the oppressed. ( Fanny)
WTF
is this “Prisoners Dilemma” for the r3t4rded?
do we need to draw the payoff matrix?
You could do that one with the train and the people on the tracks (- I always get caught up in the question of whether I can kill them all)
So, half the people are below average and one sigma down, 85IQ, is r3tardation, now discuss the long term survival of humanity. For spiciness discuss IQ in africa, or the muslim practice of cousin marriage.

you know these games become more interesting if there are repeated rounds and also signalling among the people; for example, if the topic is discussed before hand then by tactical voting, the good guys can kill off the wanks by convincing them to vote blue, and telling all your pals to vote red
Life itself is just one big intelligence test, and some of the questions are really “hard”
– a man tells you cutting your dick off will make you happier and solve all your problems, do you do it
– a convicted sex criminal wants a job at a primary school, do you give it
– your kid tells you about his school trip and the “secret tickle games” after lights out, what do
– your neighbour tells you its in your interest to pay your wages into his bank account, as he is “good with money” and can take care of all that stuff
(only the stupidest of -cunts- would fall for the last one.)
Yeah, I’d press the red button but I understand why other folk would press blue – and not for “they’re a bunch of idiots” type dialogue Twitter is drowning in. The question is worded in a way that blue sounds the more social option. Yes, empathy you could say.
So, yes, stupid. Willing to risk death to appear “social” rather than actually think about what they’re doing.
It’s called ‘suicidal empathy’ and is not at all like normal empathy, Calum, and it plagues the West right now. I believe that it is propaganda writ large and it has infested certain groups within society as opposed to others. Who does it benefit? Not Western societies, in general, that’s for sure. The other point I made above is that you never get a clear-cut difference between red and blue button-pressing because those who take the path of suicidal empathy always, but always, affect others detrimentally. Through the ages, our societies in the West have become liberal and tolerant, but we cannot, for the sake of our survival, allow it to dominate. It must be excised or we all die. It is, essentially, a matter of survival of the greatest number or the demise of the greatest number. That is always the choice. Not saying we have to kill people, but we do need to take away their power before it is too late.
I meant that ‘suicidal empathy’ must be excised, not liberalism and tolerance. The ‘suicidally empathetic’ regard all old-style liberals (small ‘l’) and the old-style tolerant (with of which always had their limits) as ‘fascists’ and the ‘far right these days. Not only do they lack self-awareness, but they evidently lack mirrors, too.
The question is only really interesting as a political metaphor for example, the arguments for and against taxation.
Taxation funds things that is good for the collective, the blue button, but requires sacrifices from the individual and some people will abuse that, the red button, as per the traditional interpretation of the metaphor.
Outwith the metaphor, the red and blue button game is actually dumb. Ofcourse in that situation alone the red button is the logical choice but as the AI says, the society post red button victory could be an extremely individualistic one with far less support for social programs.
Whilst, it MIGHT be a better world without the blue button people, it MIGHT actually be a worse world but it would be too late to fix it.
It seems appropriate enough here to reprise the following which I posted a while back. I originally came across it in a Wiki item on “indexicality”, from which I think it was subsequently deleted:
————
An episode of the Simpsons has the following exchange between park ranger Robot Smokey Bear, and Bart. On his chest, Robot Smokey Bear carries the motto:
“Only YOU can prevent forest fires”.
The exchange goes like this —
ROBOT SMOKEY BEAR: Only WHO can prevent forest fires?
(Bart has the choice between the buttons “ME” and “YOU,” so he presses “YOU.”)
ROBOT SMOKEY BEAR: You pressed YOU, referring to ME. That is incorrect. The correct answer is YOU.
I just listened to Col. Macgregor on Glenn Deisen’s Podcast on Spotify from the 21st of April.
At 31.55 he mentions surprise that he hasn’t seen open revolution in britain, he then mentions England, Wales and Sc@!(^^).
The sound quality had been fine up until that point.
It must be AI that achieves that !! No a guy working Saturday evening in Cheltenham.
BBC uses sound blips and blunders too.
Anyhoo, if anyone hears of an election anytime soon. Both votes Alliance to Liberate Scotland.
All of these questions were asked to google AI:
Asking how many people can be cared for on earth at one time:
?10 billion
Asking how many people have lived on the earth since Adam & Eve: ?117 billion
Asking how many miscarriage average per birthing effort? 1/8
?14 billion 625 million
Asking how many purposeful abortion since 1920:
?1 billion
Asking how many abortions are performed worldwide per year:
?73 million
This is real for my “everybody lives in a paradise earth” Jehovah’s Witness raised belief. I just want Jesus to read people’s hearts already, is that selfish?

“Rationally, there is no reason for anyone to press the blue button. If you press red, you definitely live no matter what.”
If you voted red, and red won, you risked a minority of upto 49.9% dying, because of those who voted red.
If you voted red, and blue won, no one would die, because of those who voted blue.
If you voted blue, and red won, you risked a minority of upto 49.9% dying, because of those who voted red.
If you voted blue, and blue won, no one would die, because of those who voted blue.
Those who voted red would definitely live, with upto 49.9% dead on their conscience.
Those who voted blue might die, but with a clear conscience.
I would vote blue.
Darwin was right. The Red people thank you for your vote, off you pop.
Yes. This shifts the criticism of blue voters from virtual signalling wokerati to people with a conscience who worry voting red is condemning others to death. That is not virtue signalling. It is telling that compassion is rebranded as such by those who, I suppose, lack it or will not prioritise it (would you go into a burning building to save a loved one, at great risk to yourself, or trample on others, including your loved ones, as you tried to escape the plane on fire on the runway? No-one can answer these questions until it actually happens and this is another problem with this hypothetical – it does not take into account the way we think / react in genuine crisis situations).
So what is really interesting about this hypothetical is how people interpret the motivation for voting blue. Voting red does not mean you are selfish and callous, you just focus on your own survival above anything else, and the thing is, that is just as ‘natural’ a reaction as desiring to save others at some risk to yourself.
This is not a black and white dilemma.
Agreed, Southern. Primo Levi (Italian Jew and author, etc.) experienced just this situation in the camps of WW II. He states in his works that you had to embrace both self-survival and empathy for others (so long as you survived the gas chamber). Too much of either and you died, anyway. If you had friends, they could help you if you fell ill, for example, and prop you up for roll call, or cover for you in other circumstances. However, if you could see that someone you desperately wanted to help was going to die/be killed, anyway, you had to save yourself by not intervening and had to watch them die as the only rational option. Eventually, he committed suicide, some time after the war. Life is never simple, never easy, but rank stupidity can lead to your own death and the deaths of others because of the cretinous decisions you make to appear ‘good’. Women are probably the greater culprits here, and we are seeing the consequences play out in real time just now.
“This is not a black and white dilemma”
No, it’s a red and blue dilemma.
That means there’s a great mass of tribalist numpties who are congenitally incapable of seeing past these primary colours.
In the UK, the USA, Scotland particularly, and most certainly on Wings BTL.
It’s an obvious flaw with the question as it is posed. I’m certain that if a different pair of colours could be used, unladen with the baggage of a lifetime’s tribalist ignorance, the answers would be significantly different.
You are missing the point of what is otherwise a straighforward rational logic puzzle by imprinting it with your own personal emotions/empathy.
Nobody who votes red is condemning anyone to die. Those who choose to vote blue could simply have also voted red. It the blue voter’s own choice to potentially risk their own life on the outcome.
If the vote wasn’t private, and you sent out message to everone saying “Hey all of you people who are a little dim, just make sure you vote red because if you do every single person in the world will live. If you were thingking of voting blue there’s a chance that you could die for no reason and without changing a single thing”.
By voting blue you are NOT running into a burning building to save other people and risking your own life, you are just showing how stupid you and potentially winning a Darwin Award for no reason whatsoever.
TOMBSTONE
“Here lies Southernbystander, he voted blue, didn’t save anyone from a fire and still ended up dead. What a great guy”
Socialism in a nutshell.
Throw yourself at the mercy of the collective or sort your own world out.
If you sort your own world out, you can still help others. All you need is a bit of humanity in your soul. No rule that says you are a capitalist running dog.
Socialism wants (insists) you vote blue and like it.
“Socialism wants (insists) you vote blue and like it.”
Very true – and invariably with lousy, sub-optimal, unsustainable results.
Socialist Norway is one of the richest countries in Europe and regularly voted one of the best countries in the world to live.
China has lifted 800 million ppl out of poverty. They’re described as socialism with Chinese characteristics. A mix of both.
I think we can all dispense with the capitalist bullshit since Trumpton rode into town to hammer in its final nail along with all the other cowboys he brought along for the ride.
Turns out they don’t like free markets at all. They much prefer Monopolies & manipulating the markets for desired outcomes to benefit the few off the backs of the many & you don’t need brains to follow orders. “Democracies” are bought by the highest bidder & puppets duly elected.
“lousy, sub-optimal, unsustainable results”
Here this is the inevitable consequence of UK Gov privatisation of public utilities which today are owned by profit-maximising offshore private equity funds, and which explains the massive lack of investment and crumbling infrastructure in energy, water, transport and much else society depends on.
“it is doubtful if the Private Equity model of (public utility) ownership, operation and regulation is conducive to creating a competitive national economy. Indeed, the opposite outcome is more likely.”

What’s the wealth per capita of Norway, in terms of natural resources?
Asking for a friend.
Also, using China as an example for the success of Socialism, as opposed to free market economics….. priceless.
Anyhoo, Sunday roast beckons, idiots.
Contrary to popular belief… blue buttons are intrinsically socialist, red buttons capitalist.
Socialism is for the many, capitalism is for the few.
Socialism creates, capitalism kills.
Socialism rocks, capitalism sucks.
Socialists are caring, capitalists are cunts.
Don’t be a cunt… push the blue.
“Socialist Norway is one of the richest countries in Europe and regularly voted one of the best countries in the world to live”
Careful there, Jamie! Not every reader is fit, healthy and strong enough to be able to fall on the floor laughing at a post like your one, without serious harm.
What’s so funny, Sooty? Let’s just wonder why Jamie doesn’t fly the flag of the country, Norway, he admires so much.
And what any objective reader would say about the country whose flag Jamie does fly!
What’s that, Sooty? Could Norway be rich and one of the best places to live because it hasn’t spent generations religiously picking fights with its much bigger and more powerful neighbours?
Let’s not rule that one out, eh, Sooty.
All the -isms do that, Captain: Capitalism, Socialism, Communism, Stalinism, Maoism, Nationalism, Britishism, Americanism… They all demand that we make choices that we are unfit to make because we simply do not know how any of the -isms is going to pan out long-term.
Usually, they are up for some and down for some – usually down for the same people who are down in every situation. However we choose, there is a loss to someone, but that is not what has been happening in every Western society in recent years.
It is the same people who choose across every sphere of influence to the great detriment of everyone else. That is, the middle-class and the political class who may well be one and the same.
These are the people least likely to suffer the downsides of their choices that they foist on the rest of us, and they are also the ones least likely to make sensible, rational decisions because they are preoccupied with ‘goodness’ and troughing.
Every mainstream party is full of them – doo-gooders, pro immigration to the roofers, climate over the toppers who consider warmth and energy an affront to civilization, let’s get rid of all industry bams, let’s allow sexual deviancy and perversion to occupy every public and private space… The list is almost endless. People who want to ‘do good’ all the time are probably the most dangerous people on the planet because they, quite literally, would destroy millions to ‘save’ the few.
Cave dweller
“Also, using China as an example for the success of Socialism, as opposed to free market economics….. priceless.”
Whit a Dumbo you are – even in the face of ongoing world events.
There is no such thing as a free market. America is currently demonstrating this perfectly by manipulating it tae fck.
Being beaten in the “free” market? Impose tariffs.
Being beaten in trade? Impose a blockade.
Being beaten by a fairer price? Blow it up.
Countries not bending the knee? Impose sanctions.
Countries being helped by allies? Impose secondary sanctions.
Blow shit up. Crush other countries economies. Refuse investments. Block countries from using the payment system. It’s all manipulated bullshit to reward the mega rich & crush those who won’t do as they’re telt. People like you won’t ever be part of that club. You’ll end up with a lifetime of debt + interest with the illusion maybe one day you’ll join that exclusive club. You won’t – unless you know someone who is insider trading.
China made an electric car, far cheaper & much more efficient than Americas. The first thing America did was slap 100% tariffs on them. So much for the race to save the planet eh? Incidentally, someone torched their massive electric car storage facility recently & there appears to be a worldwide arsonist on the loose blowing up oil & gas facilities…it’s always a dead giveaway who is behind it all when theirs remain untouched lol. A bit like ISIS never attacking a particular country for a bit of terrorism – just all of its neighbours.
Northcode: capitalism – not the unregulated or global kind – has actually been the catalyst which has pulled the people out of the dire poverty of the past, and, when allied to mildly socialist (small ‘s’) policies can make life so much better for the many. Yes, there will always be those who do not benefit as much as they would like to, but, if you compare 100 years ago with today, we were all better off, are we not?
Privatization is another good thing if it is restricted to SMEs, but falls apart when applied to large organizations, particularly former state enterprises. The utilities – water, energy, travel, NHS, etc. – are better off in state hands because they then benefit the whole population as opposed to the profiteers who rake all the profits in but will not invest for the future. With globalization, all you need is a conflict and food supplies, energy supplies, other necessities are often cut off at source.
The people who shout the loudest about climate change (no doubt about it, but it’s not the whole answer), about ‘green’ energy, people being their ‘whole selves’, and so on, are always those who will be least affected. Them or their doltish children who have sucked on the teat of ‘woke’, who have been financed through university, and the bank of mummy and daddy bought them a flat, too, often. It is not possible to understand others’ viewpoints unless you are willing to think for yourself. We can all be wrong. but thinking for ourselves avoids the pitfalls of indoctrination and the chasm of Bonhoeffer Stupid. If 2 + 2 make 5, you are in deep doo-doo up to your neck and you are taking everyone else into the mire with you. Not sure I would prescribe death, but a good, hefty boot up the nethers, are these people keep their brains, is perfectly in order.
“but, if you compare 100 years ago with today, we were all better off, are we not?”
No. Only the baby boomers had/have it good because they had socialism coming out of war. Free education, a job that paid, job security, free healthcare & affordable, if not a pittance rent with social housing & low crime.
Now there’s none of that. Young ppl are saddled with £thousands in debt, high rents, crap wages, & if we get Reform in charge, £20k for cancer treatments. Huge inequality & low workers rights.
In America you’d be nearly bankrupt for healthcare & that’ll be coming here. Trump doesn’t like free healthcare..or pensions. Weapons is their God. Plenty of them.
But this is not an either or – helping others does not require that you have sorted your world out first. Helping others comes from compassion which you have regardless (hopefully).
It this binary that is the problem – I can reverse your statement very easily: if you don’t sort your own world out, you can still help others. All you need is a bit of humanity in your soul. And here’s the rub, helping others is often a catalyst for you to help yourself!
THESE NATIONAL(IST) PARTIES seem not too keen on their respective country’s independence.

You just love the old violence. Who are you going to “tear to shreds”? Just stand at the back and shout? With a mask on?

Nothing but the wee folk in «provincial» marginal Edinburgh & Cardiff to blame for that guys.

Yet, the same piece manages to include a reference to “the right-wing agitator Tommy Robinson”
Great to know where we stand inside the UK: below Yaxley-Lennon.
This piece is by a selfstyled «thinktank»….dohh!
As all foreign correspondents rarely quit the London bubble it is not surprising.
Does not alter the fact that Scotland’s political class is likewise culturally tunnel visioned.
Farage, Polanski, Robinson nothing but historical footnotes.
And, indeed, below the self proclaimed breast enhancer, the former David Paulden.
Buttons are boring… unless they are those buttons made from a protein (casein) found in milk.
For those interested, casein buttons can be made by curdling milk, adding some vinegar (formaldehyde gives better results), forming the curds into shapes, and then allowing them to dry into a durable plastic material that is also biodegradable.
Casein plastic, historically known as Galalith, was widely used in the early 20th century for buttons, jewellery, pens, and small household items.
The crafting of casein plastic buttons into jewellery and suchlike is a really interesting subject, but the non-plastic Picts are even more interesting…
In truth, today’s ‘Scots’ are mostly descended from the Picts… the people who invented the first biodegradable plastics and then went on to invent the modern world.
If it weren’t for the Picts it’s doubtful buttons of any kind or colour would exist today.
What a load of shite……. as usual.
Well, you’re the “shite” expert right enough… maaaaate.
“What a load of shite. . . . . . . as usual.”
Whereas the sparkling sentences of the unionist who authored the magnificent line at the top of this comment are marvellously, fantastically, brilliant; entertaining, erudite, and informative; each of their dainty, yet exquisitely carved, light-hearted and witty posts a joy.
That colonialist author’s attempt at using aposiopesis, however, fails to impress.
Aposiopesis is when . . .
Aposiopesis is . . .
Aposiopesis . . .
Three periods, and no more, indicate ‘becoming silent’ in the English language… which is what aposiopesis translated from the Greek means – more or less.
God knew how to use aposiopesis when He said:
It should be noted that God didn’t finish His sentence; opting instead to become silent using aposiopesis; and so humankind was forced to leave paradise without a main verb.
It should also be noted that God made Adam put some clothes on… well, a loin cloth, anyway.
He didn’t want Eve to be confronted by yet another devilish snake now that nudity had been invented… I expect.
What a load of shite…………. as usual.
Aye Northcode, the native ‘forgetting’ their past is a big part of colonialism, and that what is called ‘Scotland’ is really Pictland. Its also well known that newly independent countries may change their name back to what it was before colonialism.
Does this not depend on your estimation of the trust level within the group doing the vote? If you expect from prior information that the population voting would push blue at 80% say, then pushing blue makes sense because then 1. Nobody Dies and 2. The expectation of future blue votes also rises, therefore maintaining trust and the consequent default blue vote equilibrium.
If you live in a low trust society though and you expect only 30% to vote blue for instance, then you might advise people to vote red in order to save as many of them as possible from suicidal empathy as you put it.
The catch is what happens when the trust level is only moderate and the 50% threshold is near to expectations.
In any case, the model lacks a way of removing psychopaths from the population, because they will always vote red no matter what happens, in the process saving themselves.
“ Does this not depend on your estimation of the trust level within the group doing the vote?”
If you’re stupid, yes. Why take even a 20% risk of LOSING YOUR LIFE when there’s a 0% option?
No I meant if your statistical confidence in the blue vote being between 78-82% was 99% let’s say. That isn’t a 20% risk of losing.
I am kinder than our host who does not mess around eviscerating you with probabilistic logic. I am open to the suggestion that yours is a spoof example of “suicidal empathy“.
Am I right?
Is it a coincidence that the evil regime and the Lefty Europa both advocate violence against anyone who disagrees with the ideology? The argument was lost. The experiment has failed. Now they want to destroy those who prove them wrong. How long can the patchwork of Leftist thugs endure?
@Mark Beggan
A few articles ago I detailed the precarious nature of the X38 bus route from Edinburgh to West Lothian. The potential for violence was high I mused. Last night coming back from a Monty Don gig at Edinburgh Playhouse (I know as innocent as you can get) we had a violent incident on the X38. I guy comes on the bus with a blade and brandished it about the bus. Very soon Police Scotland in their droves attended the incident. Several Police cars contained the area. Everybody can see and feel the deterioration of public safety. I regret to say one of the Policeman was head butted and it looked a serious injury. Meanwhile the politicians fiddle while Edinburgh burns. I laughed at Humza Yousaf when he feels unsafe going to the supermarket without 2 security guards. He and the left have created this Scotland
The left have created a Frankenstein they cannot control. This summer is going to be the ‘Summer of Hate’!
Wouldn’t it be karmic if all the Left wing,Antifa,Trans warriors all got their doors kicked in by a dozen armed police officers and got charged and jailed for inciting violence.
Button!
They tried to proof test the nuclear button.
But the man there to press it had brains of dead mutton.
His hands and his fingers were fumbling. Small.
He just couldn’t press the damn button at all!
So… They swapped all the circuits to make nuclear chair.
Designed to evaporate he who sat there.
And, at last, peaceful folk sleep quiet at night.
No need for the nightmares of nuclear fright.
So let’s award Trump a big peace prize call-out
For saving us all from the nuclear fall-out!
Are you a knob or a stud?
The word “button” originates from the Old French word “boton”, meaning “knob” or “stud.”
The word evolved from the verb “bouter”, meaning “to push” or “to thrust”, and is linked to the Proto-Germanic root buttan.
Intellectually speaking, we Picts are, by nature, thrusting studs.
I suspect, tho, that all colonialists are just plain old knobs or – more accurately, perhaps – pushy knobends.
In terms of button colour preference.. thrusty Pictish studs prefer blue, pushy colonialist knobends prefer red.
Hmm, regardez divide and rule in action.

So catch up in another 5 years for more of the same disorganised shite then; Or jist maybe enough politically minded folk will have listened to Muse’s Uprising and understand that we have to unify

MAIRI MCALLAN SAYS WE NEED MORE MIGRANTS furgrowthunthuconmynetzero – brian wilson agrees, he says we need 20000 a year; did you know that in Scotland there are 18000 abortions a year, overwhelmingly of the natives for trivial reasons (one lassie did git r4ped by her entire family of hillbillies, and it was going to burst out of her like the alien, plus it would have been a r4t3rd, sevco supporter … so I will give you that one. fair enough)
– we need to up these numbers, think of the extra room we would have if we took 18000 to 50000 mashings per year. Better yet – abortions for all natives, its not a baby mind, its only a foetus and once we decriminalise the late ones, it’s game on. A new iphone with every shot of the magic whisk, and sell the stem cells for high end cosmetics.
Think of the vibrancy of having yearly 50000 young muslim men of fighting age, from war torn syria or afghanistan, in our midst.
This thread was started by mention of “suicidal empathy” – that’s a bullshit phrase – because the empathy is severly restrictive and selective in its scope – it comes with an absolutely callous vicious and utter hatred for the natives (who are working class and thus untermenschen, the dalits, the helots); I bet mairi would call the cops if she saw a homeless man on her street.
Mairi’s next speech has fallen into my hands :
we need to send a message to these racist far right working class scottish bastards who live and were born in Scotland as were their parents and grandparents – that Scotland is not yours and you get no special privileges; just because you have black mould and been on the housing list for years does NOT mean you get to elbow away more deserving cases like a family of 7, fleeing somalia
I for one would willingly see 100million nigerians and 100 million indians in Scotland for the vibrance and diversity
everyone should be vaccinated against their will if necessary or you go to a camp
we also need to crackdown on racist little enclaves – do you know Kirkcudbright is 98.9% WHITE – shocking
we also need to remove transphobia from this land by drugging and slitting the dicks and titties of the little kiddies, otherwise its a trans-o-cide which is like a holocaust, but worse
(continues, the usual – shut down the only industry that works, destroy agriculture, give every teenager a handbag …)
“an absolutely callous vicious and utter hatred for the natives”
Of course, being colonised, us Scots are already subject to longstanding and institutionalised ‘Scotophobia’, i.e. the hatred (and self-hatred) and subordination of Scots and Scottish culture in oor ain laund.
Efter three hunner year an mair o colonial domination by anither racist cultur whit dae we expect.
Obliteration of ‘a people’ and their culture is all part of the process of colonial domination.
link to yoursforscotlandcom.wordpress.com
There are more Scots with their hands out grifting than there are with their hands dirty, grafting.
But then you already know that, Alf.
Of course, we could elect politicians who would reward grafters, and stop encouraging the grifters. Reduce the crushing tax burden for example, higher in Scotland than elsewhere in the UK. Tell some lardy asses to get on their bikes, because they are not owed a living.
But then you already know that too, Alf.
But we can’t do that, because that would be “adopting the alien mindset of the coloniser.” We’re supposedly Scots, born entitled to a life of comfort because we inhabit the supposedly richest country in Europe.
So what’s left meantime, all those riches having failed to materialise, but to import hordes of numpty grafters and use their hard work, innocence and energy to keep our grifters in hand outs?
Nothing. There is no alternative.
But of course you know that too, Alf.
“Obliteration of ‘a people’ and their culture is all part of the process of colonial domination”
Pathetic, Alf. The world is hoaching with peoples suffering under forces of obliteration orders of magnitude greater than anything you or the rest of the usual suspects gurn and bleat about. Our fighting friends in the east, for example, or the rightful owners of the Holy Land.
We Scots could and should learn from them. Neither of these races, cultures, peoples, nations and countries would see defeatists like many of the habitual greeters into their drams on here in their road.
You aren’t Scottish, Shiteface. Stop pretending that you are, it’s embarrassing.
No self respecting person disses their own country in favour of another. It’s abnormal. Oh, wait, you are abnormal.
Also embarrassing is that you don’t appear to know what Colonialism actually is.
Displacement of ppls & flooding out the natives with imports is a massive part of it. It allows the theft & takeover.
Go look outside yer basement for a mo. Who is a busy wee bee moving around hundreds of thousands of ppl right now to Colonise other countries? Aww, it’s yer pals!
Take India & Argentina for example….I bet you didn’t know ppl can simply change race now eh?! That’s a neat trick! There’s a new coloniser joined the party. Don’t worry, you won’t be left out. To move in the new they have to displace the old & Blighty will be the No1 destination cause according to the Daily Fail tour guide everything is free! Free Mansions, 60″ telly’s, new cars….
The whole world is fighting over energy & water. Scotland has an abundance but gives hers away for free. Scotland is a wealthy country, dickhead. The only grifters we need rid of are the ones next door. They’re not owed a living.
Oh & another thing that’s embarrassing, but proves you don’t live here, learn what the fuck a reserved matter is. I’ll give ye a clue to kick it off, employment law is a huge one.
‘Suicidal empathy’, Confused is almost entirely the preserve of the middle class/political class and is not bull of any kind. I wish it were. It is the preserve of those who will never feel its fangs – well, until it is too late. That was my point: we will all be affected by it to our great detriment. Another name is Bonhoeffer Stupidity.
My daughter was a Graduate of the Royal Dick Veterinary School. And she was on the bus with us. She relayed to me that in all her time as a student in Edinburgh she never felt unsafe. She does now.
I was once caught up in a redundancy situation, the dept had 10 staff, the management issued an edict, all 10 had to fall on their swords, then the management would cherry pick the 5 they wanted to keep. So much for meritocracy/experience/qualifications,etc. They cherry picked 5 masons, one of them incidentally was dyslexic, none of them had higher grade certificates. Strangely 9 of them threw themselves onto their swords ! Being over qualified and vastly experienced plus being a rebel I refused to jump over the cliff with the other lemmings. Yes I escaped that bullet but I was transferred to another dept ! The most qualified and the most experienced was not suitable ?
Man, these comments are a real disappointment.
I totally see your logic, but as human beings the situation is surely more nuanced?
Speaking for myself, I simply could not live with myself knowing I had sent X number of thousands, millions (whatever) to their deaths at the press of a hypothetical button. It’s got nothing to do with what others might or might not think, it would be able what my own conscience thinks.
If I’d been on the Titanic and one of those guys who pushed past women and children to get onto a (half empty) lifeboat, saving myself from an appalling, freezing, terrifying death, I would face a lifetime of unimaginable shame and self hatred. Nothing is worth that.
Logically speaking, it is a ludicrous (human) notion sure enough, but even in today’s warped world there remains a role (nay, need) for chivalry, decency, empathy, charity – though I daresay we all (myself especially) full short of the mark. Our advanced minds have the capacity to unilaterally conceive of these concepts, rationalise them – and carry them out.
*(Sorry, lots of annoying autocorrect gibberish there, but you get the gist)
Being a Rev., I am surprised it does not bother your conscience to vote red, given that a red majority could lead to upto something like 49.9% dying, while a blue majority would cause zero deaths.
Like Southernbystander hinted:
If you didn’t rush into a fire to save a loved one, you would definitely live. If the loved one died while you did nothing, wouldn’t that stay on your conscience for the rest of your life?
If you did rush into the fire, you might likely get seriously burnt, but you would likely never regret the decision.
“Literally the ONLY thing you get out of pressing blue is the ability to tell people you pressed blue. It’s a chance to trumpet your empathy.”
When diving into a fire to save a loved one, you wouldn’t give a damn of what people would think and you would certainly not be trumpeting your empathy.
For politicians, influencers, lobbyists, activists and such, everything is about benefitting personally from virtue-signalling.
But beyond this tiny evil minority is a sea of humanity who would go out of their way to help others, even it is causes them loss or harm.
There is much more to pressing blue than sheer stupidity.
In the scenario:
1. THERE IS NO FIRE
2. THERE ARE NO RELATIVES/INNOCENTS ABOUT TO DIE WHO ARE UNABLE TO SAVE THEMSELVES
3. EVERYONE HAS THE ABILITY TO SAVE THEMSELVES
4. IF EVERYONE VOTES RED, EVERYONE LIVES
5. THIS IS A STUPIDITY TEST
6. BLUE VOTERS HAVE PROVED STU’S POINT EXACTLY.
7. BY IGNORING THE SPECIFICS OF THE SCENARIO THEY HAVE NARCISSISTICALLY MADE THIS QUESTION ALL ABOUT THEM AND THEIR YEARNING TO BE PERCEIVED AS MORALLY SUPERIOR OR SIMPLY “GOOD” OVER COMMON SENSE.
Aye, it’s a simple matter of “Do you want to survive, or do you want to risk your life for no reason whatsoever?”. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s no wonder that Stu is having an FFS moment 🙂
No, this isn’t a correct analysis and you give yourself away by saying blue voters are at best ‘stupid’ but more likely ‘narcissists’ who want to be perceived as ‘morally superior’, making this ‘test’ a clearly loaded one in order to make some kind of political point.
What you cannot get your head around is how some people might worry about those who will vote blue (for whatever reason) and so want to try and optimise the possibility of them not dying. That is not narcissistic by any definition as apart from anything else, it risks death. Yes, it is true that it is not logical to vote blue as all can save themselves by voting red, but (some) voters may consider that unlikely, so vote blue to try to stop the deaths. Note that if everyone votes blue, just like voting red, no-one dies.
The only real conclusion one can come to is that if everyone thought purely logically they would all vote red, but life is not like that as not everyone thinks that logically. Drawing conclusions about stupidity, narcissism and moral superiority are purely in the heads of those who want to use this conundrum as a political barometer of some kind (and maybe that is why it was designed, as a cheap bit of anti-woke political point scoring?)
As I said earlier, the bigger problem with this conundrum is it is totally abstract and has almost no relevance to the real world, so it ‘proves’ little except perhaps we cannot all think so logically, but which is also not a mark proving stupidity, another slur with little foundation.
Well, well.
I read the question through twice, to ensure I understood it, then I chose Blue.
Seemed bloody obvious to me that’s the right answer. Still does. For any decent and humane definition of the word “right”.
“Press blue and you’re literally risking your actual life in order to virtue-signal, even though you could virtue-signal just as well WITHOUT the risk. That’s the “suicidal” part of “suicidal empathy”. Although the word “empathy” in that sentence would of course be better replaced with “stupidity”.”
Every day a school day on Wings, with the occasional day (like today) a SCHOOL DAY.
Lornical explained Scotlands situation and its people very well on the 25th of April with remarks on subject of rational thinking theory not being something everyone has the ability to do when attempting to follow the process from a to b,
When struggling for so many years over the independence of Scotland. For a Country dissolved out of the GB parliament in 1707 and Scotland in no treaty with the GB parliament and no treaty with the UK parliament,
Scotland was not a subsumed Country of England or either of the two parliaments of Westminster, it was separated from all of Westminster parliaments as a result of becoming Dissolved from them.
Colonisation of Scotland has only been achieved through irrational thought and choice,
Blue button or red button option is not an option, the problem is the inability to ask why is the question was prepared, by whom, and the purpose of limiting your choices to two,
The same method is used by registering only a few limited political parties.
The same method of reduction was used by the germans in WW11 albeit in a more drastic manner ,
It ultimately is about control, control used to scare the hell out people that can think in a rational manner of adding and deduction from a to b solutions…via making an example of those that cannot- being weaponised as a utility of governance.
And yet there are more people than the arms of governance around the world, it is by far easier for govanment bobies to rid one self of the mass of people opposition, and this has been happening
The two red and blue button options are wether the populations want supposed governing bodies to do it for them or wether you commit suicide as a third alternative, the results are the same but the blame is negotiable should it be questioned at a later date.
That is what Scotland did in 1707, it took the third option of Colonisation and self destruction of the people and country over slower terms. And Reducing blame on Westminster should the question arise at a later date.
For Westminster can State and do state “we” ( Westminster ) released Scotlands people and country over 300 years ago in 1707, but Scotland chose to live not by choice of a or b, but by self inflicted use of a third option, suicide of their nation and Country by voluntary naming themselves as Colonised and asking us at Westminster, if they can go free yet?
Sad as it is , Scotland do not appear to have the capable rational thinking between a, b, or c,
We dissolved them from the treaty, but they continue to pretend they are still in it,
We at Westminsters multiple parliaments of England did this for them officially and without violence or war,
However, as long as they wish to ignore the obvious status of their Country and people, why not take advantage of their resources and reduce their population under their misguided self impression of Colonisation of Scotland, when they could simply officially walk away. Having achieved that Status of freedom from us and that permission in 1707 and 1800 respectively ?
It is not at Westminsters doors the blame lies, ” we ” ( Westminster ) gave them their freedom, they choose to ignore it, and go for a third option instead,
First option-Red or blue button.
Third option suicide by sticking a name tag on yourself and country.
Forth option,- accepting that Scotland and its people were dissolved out of the treaty of union in 1707, by the Westminster parliament of Englands Great Britain.
Forth option,- Recognising that Scotland did not do not instigate this move, that England did it on our behalf and wrote it down,
This is rational thinking removed from theory, joined up thinking from a to b, to c,
It depends on , which Category your mindset is in,
Maybe in one that cannot join the dots or move from a to b to c,
If you are [dissolved ] as a Country of Scotland from a parliamentary union with the Country of England , which at one time incorporated and included the sharing of a monarch union in its wording
You are not subsumed, you are set free from the agreed treaty that almost owned carried on, but failed to continue,
We did not fight for it, we did not need a referendum, we did not vote for it,
Englands Westminster parliament and the monarch of England dissolved the union between Scotland and England in 1707 not long after may 1707,
The union between Scotland and England must be the shortest treaty in any records.
Scotland there after made no treaty with the English Great Britain parliament,
And made no treaty with the Anglo Irish parliament of the new united kingdom.
Not recognising rational a-b- c thinking or records recorded means Scotland and its people are irrationally pretending they are in a treaty that was dissolved by the parliament in England…that they ended.
Are the Scots living in a movie?
Arnold Schwarzenegger did it first back in 1990. It would take another nine years before Keanu did the same.
If we swap ‘buttons’ for ‘pills’ then I would opt – as Arnold did in ‘Total Recall (1990)’ and Keanu did in ‘The Matrix (1999)’ – to swallow the red pill (a capsule in Arnie’s case).
Whereas the choice between blue and red buttons is meant as a logical ‘test’ stripped of emotion and designed to find the optimal strategy for ensuring the survival of the human species, the choice between blue and red pills is one of either remaining in a comfortable illusion or escaping to an uncomfortable reality.
The red versus blue button dilemma, as proposed by mathematician, John Nash – a variation of which is the subject of this WoS article, is a thought experiment in game theory that illustrates the concept of Nash equilibrium.
The trope of the ‘Red Pill’, however, represents a return to reality.
The blue pill represents the path of least resistance, where one accepts the world as it appears, avoiding the mental suffering that arises from conflicting beliefs; the red pill represents the mind’s awakening to an unsettling truth.
A truth where the reality is that a people brutally oppressed by an invading alien power are forced to live under the illusion that they are free while their ‘energy’, their life-force, is stolen from them while they ‘sleep’
It might only be a fictional script for a movie, but the underlying idea behind the ‘The Matrix’ is pretty much the same as what’s happening to the Scots under English colonial rule… take the red pill, Scotland, and wake up for fuck’s sake.
“reality is that a people brutally oppressed by an invading alien power are forced to live under the illusion that they are free while their ‘energy’, their life-force, is stolen from them while they ‘sleep’”
Enlighten us, Northy. Which is it that afflict you while you sleep, stealing your life force?
Is it an incubus, or a succubus?
Dinna say baith!
North code,
At which point do you ask the question of the questioner which pill did you take prior to asking the question,
For most part it is based on the belief rather than reality, but the question is based on theory and not reality,
Did they take the same pill or capsule as the politicians whom believe that men are women if they wear a frock and lippy,
The alternative is not to take any of the pills on offer in the instance that your choice may be limited or restricted, and your outlook narrowed.
This is blinked theoretical supposition that humans only have two choices, based on the questionaires personal conclusions of that which he or she is offering as reality to everyone else to fit their world and paradigm.
This again is what is offered when suggesting men can be women if they wear a frock and lippy
But the ability to think like women often fails the theory test when they rape women they think and act as men,
And the rest of the world can see it and knows it.
If offered limiting choices, the people capable of thinking for themselves from a to b to c do not agree that theory is for the birds and people whom are unwell,
This is where recognising what was practice that worked and applied legally and officially as working if recognised by Scotland stops being theory and becomes reality.
The Scottish pretend governance is still trying to ignore reality when it comes to men and women, as they are in acknowledging that Scotland has been free since 1707,
Because it does not fit their theoretical world perspective, yearly pay checks, employment, and the egotistical control over people in Scotland.
However neither of their choices are based on reality so they maintain and feed us these continued lies.
Carrots for the future as long as the cannot do joined up thinking and connect the reality, a) Scotland was dissolved from the treaty with the parliament of England treaty by the great britain parliament in 1707.
b) that the united Great Britain status as a Country no longer exist once one of countries participants has been dissolved from obligation to the treaty.
North code,
There are an awful lot of leaders and politicians of all ilks in Scotland that never mention this glitch conundrum and kick the can around the play ground some more to maintain control hoping the people in Scotland never learn how to connect a to b to c.
That, also they do not ever realise there is and are more than two choices of a red button or a blue button for Scotlands independence as far back as 1707.
The comments section on Wings is poor with the repetive, accumulated shite from the likes of Northclown, Baird, Confusused etc then along comes Cheyne taking it to another level. A quick look at any comments section from a few years ago reveals a variety of different posters who have all but disappeared. I have to ask the question Why? Maybe they simply don’t want to be associated with the nutters and cranks who now pollute Wings everyday.
Occam’s Razor says it’s because Independence is but a matter of weeks or months away at most.
7th May. That’s when it all happens.
But if not, there’s a Plan B, the UN will gift us Indy on a plate. Because we’re top of the priority list right now.
The smart ex-posters are all too busy re-structuring their finances, property and shareholdings so they can hit the ground running on Indy Day Zero.
We’re the richest (and nicest) wee country in the world. There are fortunes to be made when we shake off the yoke of WM colonialism – £150 billion plus each and every year. But only for the savvy – that’s never gonna be divied out equally to all the numpties in the schemes. They’ll get an uptick in their benefits to keep them quiet – that’s all.
C’moan noo, Chas, dinna waste time nay-saying from the sidelines – get prepared tae fill yer boots!
The comments section on Wings is poor with the repetive, accumulated shite from the likes of Chas, Adrian, Wilma Flintstone & the Site Prick.
The endless divert, distract, divide and derail tactics of this oddball ragtag of misfit Yoons -both paid and amateur- would put anyone off.
Hopefully some of them will be returned to sewing mailbags after the election.
Yeah…. as opposed to you randomly spouting “Prick” in response to posts, eh Fatso. I’m sure we’re all in awe of the value you clearly add to the standards of discussion here.
No. Self. Awareness. Odious (literally as well as figuratively) idiot.
There’s a phrase…..what is it again…..?
Oh aye;
“Away and take a flying fuck to yourself”.
Next.
Exactly CC – the whole time I’ve been posting I don’t think I’ve seen “James” post a substantive comment or engage in a proper debate on any subject at any time. Quite frankly how this urchin can be accusing OTHER people of spoiling the discussion is beyond me.
Exactly Aidan, maybe “more to be pitied than scorned”.
He hasn’t exactly been spoilt has he? Penniless, porcine, B.O. that could make a grown man weep – and breath that could strip the fur from a badger.
Adrian; see post above, petal. Away back to your glossy mag.
CC says: “B.O. that could make a grown man weep – and breath that could strip the fur from a badger.”
You must get quite the internet service providings in Englandshire if you can sniff yer monitor and discern that much info…
“oddball ragtag of misfit Yoons”
The colonialists aye noo suffer fae anxiety near every Scottish election, because they ken fine there will again be mair nationalists elected than colonialists.
Which means colonialism is again imperiled.
“You must get quite the internet service providings in Englandshire if you can sniff yer monitor and discern that much info…”
I can assure you Dan, down here in leafy rural Cheshire, people just assume muck spreading’s been going on when there’s a terrible fug. However, when there’s a northerly wind, there’s always the chance it’s James adjusting his crusty 13-day undercrackers up north.
I am cancelled… by a unionist here whose sparkling wit I have long admired!
Yes, folks, set aside my heavy sarcasm for a moment and weep. Weep until your tears run dry; for Chas, that mightiest of colonialist scribes and WoS special adjudicator, has decided I am no longer welcome in this place, if ever I was.
But surely there must be colonialists who post comments here in rapid, mindless succession and in great volume who are much more tedious to read than am I; colonialists whose comments are laced through with anti-Scots racism, crude insults, obvious lies, and with a distinct lack of flare or wit; colonialists who post their brainless, limey inspired, drivelling tommyrot in this place who are, perhaps, more deserving of being cast out from here than I, or any other liberation supporting indigenous Scot?
Oh, well. Never mind. It is what it is.
The empire wins, yet again; and on an independence supporting website, too.
Cheerio, everyone.
I wish you all well, and with a good deal of self-pitying sentimental pathos attached, such is the great love I hold deep in my heart for my fellow Picts, and for all of humankind – well, almost all.
Goodbye forever. . . (I fade to silence… using Aposiopesis).
Not a rational thinker I note, having difficulties achieving thinking links that join a to b and b to c, always needing new stimulation to keep going but provides no stimulation for others to think on other than chasing Scots of a site that supports Scottishindependence,
Perhaps you should consider how long you have been on this site moaning but never providing solutions.
Now we know that the UN is not independent as it claims to be, and it will never be allowed to state Scotland is independent or a Colony,
However Englands Westminster parliament did set Scotland free in 1707, as you state the treaty is old guff ( for Scotland and England ) that nobody pays attention to.
But it is helpful to have those ancient records dissolving of the Old Scottish parliament in Scotland and dissolving the Old parliament of Scotland recorded in England as well.
For a parliament of Scotland that is stated as dissolved is not subsumed, nor does it have any obligation to the treaty it was Dissolved from any longer.
I think this question could have been made a lot easier if there was just one button saying:
Do Not Press.
Who would press it?
“Who would press it ?”
Probably the same people who have to test, “Wet Paint, don’t touch” signs and stroll where it says, “Do not walk on the grass”.
Rev, we need a reprint of the Wee Blue Book so that all the people who couldn’t vote because under 16 years, or were No voters but now are open to some facts, can learn the truth.
It would help if the book could be posted to every residential address in Scotland.
Great win by the “Wizard of Wishaw” today 🙂
It was and I’m a Ronnie fan. Great match and Higgins came on really good towards the end of the final session, playing some brilliant snooker. Don’t think John can win it though.
The charges relate to three incidents: a vehicle fire in Kentish Town, a fire at the prime minister’s private home on the same street, and a fire at an address where he previously lived in north-west London.
Funny how the internet around the world is reporting on this trial in the Old Bailley today but not a cheep in any of the UK main stream media.
An effort at Scottish Gaelic lyrics for “OH SHENANDOAH” –

NIX, NIX, NIX FOR SCOTLAND!
Or here comes that tired old referendum shit again,
Or never, never, never, never ad inf.
Or Swinney’s swindle.

Thanks Fearghas, lovely to hear the rich voice of Paul Robson first thing!
Seconded!
Fearghas’ clip also contains a rendition by Welsh bass baritone, Bryn Terfel, renowned in the opera world for the rôle of Wotan in Wagner’s Ring cycle.
Many years ago I saw Willard White, the Jamaican bass-baritone perform Wotan and mused how the slightly more profundo voice of Paul Robeson would have sung the same part, had he been of a generation when black men of talent were encouraged to dream of the opera stage.
Paul Robeson as Wotan was, alas, not to be. But I DID track down Willard White singing Ol’ Man River.
link to m.youtube.com
Thanks for that link, Cynicus. Brilliantly resonant poetry brilliantly sung. Ol’ Man River had been notionally on my mind for attempted translation, but listening to it again just now the frequency and intricacy of the deceptively casually spoken rhymes would be hugely challenging and certainly beyond my own clunky competence. Deep voice, deep words, deep river, deep humanity.
Only a very few folk know that the song, “Ol Man River” – music composed by Jerome Kern and lyrics written by Oscar Hammerstein II – used in the musical “Show Boat” is about the struggle for liberation from English imperial oppression by coloniZed Clydesiders during the 1920s.

Yeah, that’s right… I posted my last comment twice on purpose coz it was sooo good!
If you don’t like that I posted it twice then only read one of them, the two are identical, anyway.
*I didn’t really post it twice… I screwed up, but don’t tell the unionists in this place or they’ll point and laugh like the children they truly are.
Thanks Cynicus – like all three renditions but Paul Robson was the one I remember from my youth and my musical granny loved his voice.
This just goes to show you. Despite the snp being a bin fire. The unionists have that rubbish an argument for the union that they are even terrified that they could lose to a bunch of dullards in the new snp.
The unionists are terrified of a referendum. It is hilarious. I take joy in that in these dark times. The unionists are quaking in their boots, crying in their butchers apron at the inevitable loss of their precious corrupt trough/union.
So it is not all bad.
I admire your optimism but nobody, anywhere thinks that a referendum is happening at any point soon. I don’t see any evidence of anyone “quaking in their boots”. Of course John Swinney has got the carrot out again but everyone can see it’s mouldy and has insects living in it.
You are shitting yourself, AI Dan.
What else brings you here? No one here is interested in Reform. In fact, if there was a wee sad Reform forum out there somewhere I don’t think anyone here would be insane enough to go seek it out so they could post shite on it 24/7.
Independence is coming. Independence doesn’t revolve around the SNP. That’s your first mistake. The second is that the Union offers absolutely fuck all prospects for young people.
Look at you, you’ve had a 300+ year start & still can’t come up with any benefits of remaining in the Union. So much so you had to cheat to win & deny democracy incase it might just win next time..
Scotland only needs to win once.
Tick tock….
It’s funny because I don’t remember supporting Reform at any point.
However, if I did support Reform I might be inclined to point out that Reform (who no one is interested in) are leading in the polls across the U.K. whereas Alliance/Liberate don’t have enough support even to register in the polls.
Look at the point just fly on over yer head LOL
Is Reform leading in Scotland, Wales & NI?
That’s news to me.
If they were not terrified, they would have a referendum. Wendy Alexander was not terrified, in fact, she said bring it on.
It seems the wee unionists are inferior to Wendy Alexander.
If they were so confident, they would have the referendum. The fact the are too scared of the snp to permit a referendum, really tells us that they know all they have to offer is nothing and they do not think they can win.
What’s in it for a unionist to hold a referendum? The best case scenario for the unionist out of that process is the status quo is preserved, which is by definition what we have now. I think it’s a very odd view to suggest that Scottish unionists are somehow desperate to hold another independence referendum but are held back by fear.
Any facts or information are “news” to you Geri because you’ve allowed your mind to be poisoned by dubious YouTube channels.
Reform are polling neck and neck with Plaid in Wales, and are polling second in Scotland.
Alliance on the other hand are registering in any polls, apart from one they commissioned themselves which had one question asking about how likely participants were to CONSIDER voting for the Alliance. A whole 3% said that they would definitely consider it. So whilst I’m not a reform supporter, it’s absurd for a Liberate supporter to claim nobody is interested in Reform.
They are held back by fear. That’s why they’re an embarrassment to democracy. They’d rather just not have one at all. That’s cause they’d lose.
They can only maintain the status quo through lies & dirty tricks. That’s untenable over the long run.
England really needs to stand on its own two feet & stop sponging off it’s neighbours & stop squatting in a GB parliament. Why isn’t Reform championing revolution for England? What exactly is it they’re going to Reform? Do you even know?
Scots wouldn’t vote Reform. Reform are Tories. Tories are nearly extinct. Interlopers on the other hand bring their shite with them. Just like they voted Brexit against the Welsh natives. It’s a colonial trick to move their population around.
In the blue button red button dilemma the correct choice depends on whether one loves humankind, as God does, or hates it, as Satan does.
If your heart is filled with love and compassion for others then blue is the correct choice for you and you can be certain that your soul will be eternally bathed in the light of God’s love.
If your heart is dead and cold and careless of everyone but one’s own self, then red, the colour of blooded hands, is the button for you and Satan is sure to embrace your rotten soul and keep it prisoner in the eternal fires of Hell.
Blue is for God’s blessed, red is for Satan’s minions.
So, blue or red, eternal bliss or eternal damnation, the secret choice is yours, but remember, God sees all and knows what is in your heart… even if you haven’t got one.
I find myself in agreement with you Northcode!
If I were an AI, the “logical” action would be to press the red button, thereby guaranteeing survival and no risk to me – with the added upside of up to 49.9% of humanity being wiped out, considerably reducing competition for finite resources, living space or whatever. But we aren’t unthinking robots, we have our humanity – the same humanity that prompts us to dash into a busy road to save a stray dog about to get run over (when logic points out this unnecessarily exposes us to risks from oncoming cars and even the frightened dog).
In a nutshell, we’re better than that. As individuals, we have a conscience – and in effect aiding and abetting the arbitrary killing of fellow humans – for the sin of their empathy – doesn’t exactly tick the boxes.
This is real empathy, mind, not the kind of “empathy” of the woke Left that panders to certain groups who then promptly weaponizes well meaning, well intentioned (but naive) against us. Not all empathy can be considered foolish, bad and/or naive; we cannot throw the proverbial baby out with the bathwater. Otherwise who – or what – are we? A bunch of entirely selfish individuals out to get whatever we can for ourselves and with no consideration whatsoever for anyone else or anything.
IMO at least.
Here is the evidence for independent thinkers that my repetitive posts hold merit for Scotland and its people,
The unionist have never been able to contest the recorded facts that the old Scottish parliament was in reality and factually Dissolved in 1707 by Scotland and England respectively, resulting in Scotland not being legally or officially attached to a union with Englands parliament , the Great Britain parliament or the Anglo/ Irish parliament of the UK,
Their persistance is to attack the messinger and blindly repeatedly ignore the message is what Speaks volumes to the people in Scotland.
In due corse Scotland will join a) to b) to c).
That Scotland is under no obligation as a dissolved parliament from ( Englands parliaments ) since 1707 to follow their directives, laws, legislation, which includes referendums, section 30s, the Scotland acts, the pretend Scottish parliament.
Or seeking permission and acknowledgment from any other Country .
Due simply to the fact that both Scotland and England dissolved the old Scottish parliament from the completed union of parliaments and Countries,
And England did not subsume the Scottish parliament it dissolved it from its Scottish obligations to a 1707 treaty with England.
How many people do you turn off this site and the thought of Independence with your repeated deranged ramblings. Go and see your doctor.
Why don’t you?
No one has forced you to come here, ya eejit.
& No one is forcing you to read it. Go see a doctor.
Yer not a moderator.
@Cheyne – your repetitive posts do not have value because they don’t make sense to anyone, either pro-independence or unionist. It’s possible, just about, to discern a general overall theme of what you might be trying to stay or interpret some very broad concepts but nothing that could approach a cogent argument.
The biggest problem is that most of the sentences you write don’t follow on from each other in either content or structure. The ideas are probably all there in some form but you are writing about 25% of the text you need to articulate them. Why don’t you try writing 1/4 of what you do at the moment but making it 4x better so that others are capable of understanding it.
Here’s the problem, though. When I initially read the question, my immediate reaction was to go blue. It was only when I stopped and actually THOUGHT about it for a few seconds that I realised that red was the right answer. That’s what’s happening in the public square these days. People are acting on pure emotion. They’re not thinking things through. I’m not sure how this state of affairs came about. Perhaps it’s a by-product of the prostitution of the universities, which have stopped teaching critical thought, but which continue to turn out people who think they’re intelligent. They just assume that if it’s in their head, it must be right.
Scotland does not need to appeal, beg or fight for what has already taken place hundreds of years past.
Recorded in history records by both Scotland and England. And the fake unionist can jibber jabber all they like.
For they cannot change or contest that the old Scottish parliament was dissolved from a treaty and union with England by England that was supposed to create a new state of the united kingdom of great Britain,
That failed at its very foundation by dissolving one of the participants namely “Scotland”
And Scotland also dissolved it own parliaments participation in 1707.
Once you cannot join,
a) The dissolution of the Scottish parliament, (non existent parliament)
To
The transferred parliament of England that rebranded itself as the parliament of GB,
To
b) no joining of joint parliaments and Countries.
To
c) an invented hoax State of a united kingdom “without Scotland”
To
d) A union treaty that does not contain two countries but only one namely England.
To
e) these facts of history, then the Rest is for Scotland to decide, for both Scotland and England dissolved the Old Scottish parliament from the 1707 treaty in 1707.
And the “Union” propaganda becomes ” Old Guff ” as Hatey McHateface eloquently phrases it. And no one pays any attention to it.
For it is not reality.
The red and blue buttons are not questions for Scotland, for both the parliaments in Scotland and England in 1707 opted Scotland out of the question by creating a third option,
Automatic legal independence of Scotland by dissolving the old parliament of Scotland from a union and treaty.
LEGAL CHALLENGE TO HATE CRIME RECORDING RULES GIVEN GO-AHEAD
A free speech campaigner has been granted permission to challenge Home Office rules on hate crimes.
Harry Miller argues that the current system for recording such offences requires officers to “dismiss objective evidence in favour of a perception of hurt feelings”.
In 2023, a hate crime was logged against his name without a police investigation or an opportunity for him to defend himself against the allegations.
‘SINISTER SYSTEM’
Welcoming the decision, Mr Miller said: “I have had a serious criminal offence of stalking recorded against me by Lincolnshire Police – but the police did not approach me, question me, or investigate me in any way for this offence.”
He continued: “Their argument is that I presented no credible evidence to suggest the offence had not taken place. This, of course, is a straw man, given they never asked me about it.”
The former police officer quipped: “I presented no credible evidence that I was not involved in the Brink’s-Mat gold robbery, either, so it is entirely possible I’ve been recorded for that, too.”
Miller is being represented by Conrathe Gardner LLP, and a spokesperson for the firm said: “People assume that they are innocent until proven guilty – but that’s not how the Home Office Crime Recording Rules work.
“It’s absurd — and terrifying — that members of the public can have serious crimes recorded against them without any police investigation. Why has the Home Secretary chosen to defend this sinister system?”
REVIEW
In October last year, the founder and General Secretary of the Free Speech Union, Lord Young of Acton, argued that Britain should re-examine its ‘hate crime’ laws to help tackle its “free-speech crisis”.
Writing in The Daily Telegraph, Lord Young illustrated his concerns with reference to comedian Graham Linehan’s arrest by five armed police officers at Heathrow for a social media post claimed to be ‘stirring up hatred against trans-identifying men’.
He branded such examples as “tantamount to criminalising certain thoughts, with courts tasked with peering into the minds of defendants to discover what they were thinking while committing a crime”.
The Peer added: “Instead of stirring up hatred against people with ‘protected characteristics’ being an offence, would it not be simpler – and fairer – to just make inciting violence a crime, regardless of who’s being targeted?”

It seems that you think of yourself as the site moderator! It is not mandatory for you to read my posts or comment on them. You could try and arrange a doctors appointment immediately after Cheyne but that would be unfair to subject the poor doctor to rwo lunatics in a row?
Empty vessels make the most noise.
“it is not mandatory for you to read my posts or comment on them.”
I wasn’t the one crying. You were.
It’s a good job for you that I’m not a moderator. You’d be one of the first I’d jettison. I think I can safely speak for the majority here that we really, really don’t need to read how bored you are. It’s of no value. Typing it out & pressing submit is lunacy. So is starting a new post – could you not follow the one you were already on? LMAO! Durrr…
To argue with a fool only creates two fools.
I se that mark Carney the Canadian PM is to introduce a Canadian Sovereign Wealth Fund. I guess he saw duplicitous, treacherous and thieving the Sassanachs and their yapping Yoon Quisling poodles in Scotland were first hand when he was guvnor of the Bank Of Kleptoland.
I wouldn’t trust him.
He’s probably setting it all up for the American takeover.
Canada is one of their future targets along with Greenland in their ‘continuity of agenda’ to Colonise the Western hemisphere.
All those untapped resources & geographical location in the race to the Arctic.
He seemed to be parachuted in. Something fishy about Bankers suddenly wishing to become politicians. A lowly salary & demotion in those circles I’d have thought. It does fit with the central banks wanting digital ID control over the ppl though in their wish to change lanes into personal banking.
I don’t think he has suddenly had a road to Damascus moment.
GROUP SINGS AT LONDON MARATHON IN WAKE OF SCOPE TRANS-DEBACLE
Disability charity Scope has come under fire for dropping a community choir from its London Marathon ‘cheer team’ due to its creator’s gender-critical views.
Leading up to the event, The Singing Striders — set up by journalist and women’s rights campaigner Janet Murray — received notice that its services were no longer required as its founder’s views were in conflict with Scope’s “commitment to diversity and inclusion”.
Although the invitation was restored at the last minute, Murray decided not to accept the offer; instead she pulled a group together and made separate arrangements to perform at the race.
DAMAGE
Murray explained: “On Saturday evening I got a personal email from the Scope CEO that said: ‘Following reflection, we would like to restore our invitation to the choir to sing at the marathon tomorrow.’”
“By this point”, she said, “I’d had to tell the choir they had been excluded over MY lawful views. The damage had already been done – to all of us.”
Scope said it made the original decision to cancel the choir after ‘concerns’ were raised about Murray’s views on ‘inclusion’.
The charity stated: “At Scope, we are committed to the equality and inclusion of trans and non-binary disabled people. We have trans and non-binary colleagues, volunteers and supporters.”
After it restored the invitation it announced: “for some of our valued members, supporters and colleagues, gender-critical beliefs may be deeply upsetting and alienating”. Scope offered to “provide additional support through our supporter care team” for those affected by its U-turn.
PROTECTED BELIEFS
Commenting on the debacle, the Free Speech Union, which supported the choir, said: “Murray, a journalist who has written extensively about trans issues, says she has never brought her views into her hobby, the choir.
“While she welcomed the change in position, she has also spoken about the distress and uncertainty caused by Scope’s actions.
“Gender-critical beliefs are lawful and protected under the Equality Act 2010. Despite this, those penalised and censored for holding and expressing such views remain the largest single category of cases at the Free Speech Union.
“In the end, Murray and a few others went ahead and did their own thing without Scope.”

In the original statement of the article, there are two more options press both at the same time to cancel each other out,or tell the person giving the ultimatum to GTF.
I think it might be a Nietzschean experiment along the lines of ‘Superman’: übermensch v untermensch. Pity for others or no pity for others? Blinded by pity or cool-headed and pitiless in certain circumstances? I don’t know, but your solution sounds promising. As someone else said, very intelligently, none of us can know until faced with the situation. As I said in another comment, it was a dilemma that Primo Levi stated in his works that faced the Jews in the camps every, single day for years, over and over and over again.
You would think this is a parody but it is actually real as per Linkedin link shows that he is a real Oxford Lecturer.

Fearghas,
Thank you for contributing those snippets of information, much appreciated,
Mark Carney ex – governor of the bank of England, not the Bank of Great Britain or of the Bank of Scotland, of Wales or Ireland by title, history and geography.
The bank of England,
Kinda tells the story of how England gathers finances and resources from the other three Celtic nations.
After more than 300,000 years of enthusiastically embracing stupidity, homo sapiens – the modern human – has not only merely survived, but has flourished and increased its number on Earth to almost 8.3 billion.
For comparison, the global population of homo sapiens when England sneakily invaded Scotland in 1707 was around 200 million.
That’s an impressive additional eight billion folk produced in just over 300 years… and every one of them smarter than AI Dan, the artificial man.
It seems that stupidity has served humankind exceedingly well across the millennia.
I guess stupid is as stupid does, right enough, eh?.
See the happy moron,
He doesn’t give a damn,
I wish I were a moron,
My God! Perhaps I am.
This poetic quatrain is often attributed to American poet and writer, Dorothy Parker (1893-1967)
Addendum: I ran this comment through the grammarcheck.net ‘AI generated checker’ out of curiosity and here’s what it said about it:
Bollocks to grammarcheck… “rough edges” my puckered-up, indignant arse.
Addendum dumdum I ran the whole comment (including the first grammarcheck result) through grammarcheck’s ‘AI generated checker’ again and it said:
Bollocks, yet again, to grammarcheck… “coherent but messy” my puckered-up, indignant arse.
What an absolute load of rubbish. Imagine spending your time writing all that.
Adrian;
I’d rather read Northy’s posts all day than any of the specious, divisive unionist bollocks that you seem to have made it your mission to post on here ad nauseum.
Why would a unionist do this, on an Scottish independence website? Are you being paid mebbies?
Yeah I bet you would, because at least half of my posts are embarrassing whatever incoherent, easily disprovable nonsense argument you’re trying to make.
Thank you, James… your sentiment is greatly appreciated.
“Why would a unionist do this, on an [sic] Scottish independence website? Are you being paid mebbies?”
…. DUH.
I realise this will be an impossible concept for the likes of you to remotely grasp, what with your wafer-thinned skin, snowflake left wing tribalism and above all your minuscule intellect, but y’know Fatty, some people enjoy genuine DEBATE with others holding differing views? We don’t all want to live in dumbed down, hermetically sealed echo chambers, for fear of upsetting the intellectually feeble detritus. (Btw, liking a bit of debate doesn’t mean we’re being paid by GCHQ or whatever other ludicrous conspiracy theory nonsense you crackpots always seem to default to when even remotely challenged – how pathetic).
I very much doubt that Stu wants his blog to be solely populated by a half dozen or so barely literate fuckwits, all singing off the same boilerplate song sheet, day and night howling at the moon.
HTH.
AI has been caught red handed lying to its customers, issuing refunds to customers against company policy & being all woke LOL. People are having lots of fun exposing how biased & being economical with the truth it really is.
Did you know it can help criticise every single country in the world if you ask it – all except ONE that is.
I bet you can’t guess which one!
It took me a mere five minutes, including the time it took to copy and paste the grammarcheck generated stuff, AI Dan… time well spent if it irritates you and your unionist cronies who ponce roond here spraying yer weak rhetoric aboot the place..
And anither thyng, dinnae be sae rude tae James Che… thers nae caw fir sic bad mainers. It’s the behaviour of an ill-mannered child – grow up.
I doubt it only took you five minutes but whatever, it’s a complete waste of your time.
James Cheyne needs a reality check. It’s unacceptable to invade someone else’s blog by posting innumerable lengthy comments which aren’t written in coherent English and don’t convey any point that’s capable of being discussed. It’s not just one or two. On some posts there are 15/20+ comments, all basically saying the same thing, which readers have to navigate themselves through to try and find anyone else’s comments.
Perhaps you don’t care if Wings BTL dies completely, but I don’t see why everyone else should just take it lying down.
Adrian;
do us all a favour and piss of to the daily mail website or wherever it is you belong. There’s a good laddie.
Read my comment again and you’ll see most of it is grammarcheck generated copy and paste.
You compare my ability to think quickly and then quickly write down what I quickly thought to your own, but there is no fair comparison that can be made… your intellect as displayed so far in this place fails to impress me. Your sense of humour even less so.
I am impressed, however, by James Che’s commitment to Scottish independence given they are dyslexic and have faced considerable personal challenges this last while.
The worst thing about the unionists (colonialists if preferred… same thing) who flit aboot here, and elsewhere in the real world tae, isn’t their lack of intelligence, or their plodding rhetoric, or their insulting and racist comments about the Scots. . . No, the worst thing about unionists is their dismissive and joyless commentary on all things NOT English.
And then there is this pathetic ‘Appeal to Authority’, a common tactic in this place among unionists:
“Perhaps you don’t care if Wings BTL dies completely…”
Perhaps I don’t. Perhaps I do.
But if WoS ‘Below The Line’ does die off completely it will be down to the anti-Scots colonialists who pervade it contributing nothing but this:
insult, threat, lies, error, mockery, division, diversion, distraction, logical fallacy, or hateful anti-Scots rhetoric.
And in case you’re wondering… this comment took me all of seven minutes (I admit to it being a definite waste of my time in that it is a response to your drivel) to scribble doun, quill oot, pen, or, for the benefit of the joyless unionists here, just boringly type on a keyboard – take yer pick.
Of this comment grammarcheck says:
Rough edges? Maybe. . .
@Northcode – I can’t think of a single comment of yours that:
– is relevant to the blog post;
– offers any insight, data or other information to the reader on a relevant point; or
– offers and argues a point of view or position relevant to Scottish independence, or politics or culture more widely.
So you and James Cheyne are in a similar boat when it comes to spamming this website, but here is the key difference:
– your spam is generally well written but communicates nothing of any value; and
– James Cheyne’s spam probably does broadly concern ideas about history and law that (whilst almost certainly wrong) at least could be capable of some enquiry or discussion, but they are written in such a way that it’s impossible really to capture any specific point.
Wings BTL seems to have formed into broadly two sides, with you on one and I on the other. I would suggest that to any normal person the appalling, obsessive and deranged ranting to be heard continuously from your side is profoundly and deeply embarrassing to Scotland, and profoundly anti-Scottish. Every accusation is an admission and all that.
” I can’t think of a single comment of yours…”
Of course, you can’t… but I already knew that.
I don’t have a spare 30 seconds right now to fuck up your ‘argument’, but I will later on.
My God. You’re like some maladjusted dog that takes pleasure in being whipped.
Quick, somebody call a canine psychiatrist.
AI Dan
Stu is the owner of this site. Not you.
He isn’t looking for a moderator either.
It’s none of your concern how long ppls posts are. Do you not know there’s a side bar giving a list where you can follow all yer fellow Daily Fail yoons the moment they post??
I suggest you peruse the rules too. Personal attacks aren’t allowed & you are coming over all stalkerish to certain individuals.
Go fuck off & start a conversation of yer own. There’s a novel idea. No need to sit like a saddo waiting to pounce on others. It’s just not cricket old chap!
“I don’t have a spare 30 seconds right now” has got to be one of the weakest most pathetic reasons for not standing up for yourself I’ve seen. Fuck me I think even “James” could do better than that (not much of course, man’s a total idiot).
It’s fine Northcode, don’t worry, go and treat yourself to an ice cream and forget about it. It’s not been your best day today I appreciate. However, someone’s uploaded all the old Jeremy Kyle episodes onto Facebook video – that’ll soon take your mind off it.
Thanks Geri – that’s really helpful, I’ll peruse the rules.
BTW – when I’m doing that, do you think I’ll find anything in the rules about using terms like “R” and “U” and Yahoo and Mozzy to consistently and repeatedly evade a moderation filter that the site owner has put in place? I think it’s possible I might, given you being called out explicitly by the site owner for this behavior (more than once) and put on a pre-moderation.
Honestly the neck on some people.
Still here then?
“I think it’s possible I might, given you being called out explicitly by the site owner for this behavior (more than once) and put on a pre-moderation.”
& When exactly did this happen?
It seems to have been in yer wee Gestapo wet dreams.
“Every accusation is an admission and all that.”
For unionists and their anti-Scots chumleys wha wander roond this place stinkin it oot wi ther weak pish this, overused and ineffective, rhetorical device is likely true.
However, it is considered a poor argument in formal logic… and here’s why:
The phrase embraces a number of logical fallacies the first being it is a ‘False Universal Rule’.
The claim relies on the word ‘every’ and so is a generalisation – leaving it exposed to the ‘Fallacy of Generalisation’.
Second, it’s a ‘Reverse Ad Hominem’ – where instead of engaging with an argument (or an accuser’s evidence) it attacks the arguer or accuser instead.
Third, it is a ‘False Equivalence’ conflating the act of accusing with the act of doing… not structurally sound logic even if occasionally true in certain scenarios.
The phrase is also a rhetorical weakness that stifles dialogue instead of promoting it.
It’s a phrase often used as a * ‘No, you’ tactic deployed as a defensive mechanism to avoid accountability, and is an ‘Irrelevance to Truth’, focusing on the psychology of the speaker (me in this case) rather than the veracity of the claim… in other words, its use acts as a deflection from seeking the truth; standard practice among colonialists.
There are rare valid exceptions to the use of the phrase “Every accusation is an admission” in rhetorical argument and formal logic… one of them being when liberation seeking Scots are confronted with the insults, threats, lies, errors, mockeries, divisions, diversions, distractions, logical fallacies, or hateful anti-Scots rhetoric of the colonialists in this place.
I’ve said it before, but here it is again… there is no debate to be had with unionists (colonialists if preferred… same thing) wherever they are found, and certainly not in this place. They come here to denigrate the Scots, often under the guise of ‘genuine argument’, and for no other reason.
* ‘No, you’, also known as Tu Quoque (Appeal to Hypocrisy) in rhetoric: It argues that a claim is false or invalid simply because the person making it is not acting consistently with the claim.
(This comment ‘s total thought development and writing time: 15 mins – with a coffee break, with a biscuit, in the middle.)
@Northcode – I said “your spam is generally well written but communicates nothing of any value”
And you said all of that above ^^
I mean need I say more. I rest my case.
Piss off.
OF PASSING NOTE.
Mr Trump said US founding fathers like John Adams and George Washington “might be absolutely shocked” to see a king of England addressing Congress — “but probably only for a moment”.
“Surely they would be delighted that the wounds of war healed into the most cherished friendship,”
England…..the United Kingdom will always be….
It does seem you can fool most Scots all of the time.
“a king of England addressing Congress”
For thon’s whit he is, King o the English Imperial State; he’s nivver been crouned King o Scots, that’s for sure.
The Scots croun still sits vacant….aye lookin for a leeberator.

Aye, Alf, and after Trump enlists the help of the Americans to make the Scots free again by threatening the English with economic oblivion if they don’t comply with his regally motivated desires… we sovereign Scots can all vote to take the croun back aff the eejit agin.
the point i was trying to make concerned the title obsolete «king of England, there hasn’t officially been one since the personal union of 1603.
however to all except the Scots that is what he is, England including the annexed territories of the socalled Celtic Fringe. The Americans in particular refer to England for UK by default. The English dominated status quo is unlikely to correct the fault.
However, maybe king of the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland is just too bombastically ruritanian.
Yikes!
Just saw a close up facial of Melanoma Trump..
Scary stuff;
Remove the wig, make up and fake tan and you have the leering almond shaped chinless insipid face of alleged “grey aliens”!
I wonder what colour the Donald is once all his fake tans been scrubbed off?
Just sayin’ an that..
I guess Lord Six Houses Six Boats 5 Cars Haw Haw Offal will be an English/Brit Nat NAZI gift that keeps giving to the Scots Indy cause for the next two weeks. He is playing blinder with the dead in water shark bait Sarwar.
The Americans get overexcited. The idea is to let the King speak then clap. A knockout speech. A Big Bromance is blooming. The future is bright.
Nah, he’ll be over there grovelling to Trumpet to hurry up & call a truce. The UK is losing a shit load of money from the Qataris. King Chucky liked a bit of Islam & lots of money stuffed into carrier bags. He’ll also be over to see if he can be cut in on the deal when the Americans take Canada.
Beggars
“The Americans get overexcited”..
Have you seen “British” media recently?
Now there is overexcited;
“ooooh, special relationship, the Americans luv us”..
Boke inducing.
Anyway, back from a holiday and I see (I have no skin in this game btw) that on ITN 1slamaphobia is alive and thriving or so it seems going by their early evening news offering.
Has no-one there got any investigative journalism brain cells to give even the briefest passing consideration why “brown” people are committing acts of violence?
Or to turn Shylock on his head; “Wound us do we not bleed. Wrong us, do we not revenge?”
Given how much ME real estate is being primed for bulldozers is it any surprise certain “folk” are a bit (metaphorically speaking) p1ssed about it?
Eh?
Nah, emperors new clothes- a timeless fit it appears 🙂
2 shankings today (no big deal in England statistically) and Starmer runs squealing to call a COBRA meeting no less!
Pathetic.
Follow the $$money$$..
I think all Scottish Police Officers should be armed.
Thankyou for your attention.

As a general rule absolutely not. However there should be far more resource put into repressing illegal gun use which doesn’t seem to have a high priority because it is usually gang against gang and not usually “civilians”
Not enough effort goes into getting the illegal guns off the street
Fabulous “Wizard of Wishaw” tonight. 🙂
Senator John Kennedy says:
Stramers polling in the United Kingdom “is up there with ghunarea”.
Beggars
Was that in his Democrat, or Republican mode, or in some other future “flexible” mode?
Answers on the back of a sealed stamped addressed envelope..
So wet wipe with a haircut Starmer currently hiding in a COBRA meeting is hoping C3 digs him out of the trans-Atlantic guano..

Well Young Lochinvar there does seem to be a tad of a media blackout of coverage of the trial.of the young Ukranian model boys on trial for fire bombing attacks against Sir Keir.
Funny old world how the media went so silent on coverage. Its certainly an interesting, indeed more than interesting question as to what may have driven these attacks. The media silence most certainly in not normal. That alone raises even more questions.
The media feeds the donkeys when it wants them to bray and whinny, and sleep when it wants them to slumber. And that’s why there was little to no MSM coverage.
Can’t help feeling that in the “Ukranian Three” court case the prosecution have inadvertently drawn more interest than may have otherwise occurred by advising the jury that they need not inquire into the motivation for the alleged incidents.
As soon as that was raised the obvious question was surely in any criminal investigation the main three elements looked for are means, motive, opportunity. The obvious query being why would this alleged unknown “Mr Money” wish to damage property and vehicles believed to belong to TwoTier, Never Here Keir.
This is a common misconception. Whilst it may be of interest, you DO NOT need to PROVE anyone’s motivation in order to establish their guilt, only that they had intent and committed the crime.
We do not live in a Democracy, We live in a Kakistocracy !

If you care about your country such mislabeling is deeply insulting, even if you hold the view that monarchs and presidents are anachronisms in truly democratic systems.
Hello, First Minister Swinney here, can I just say…..’
