Navigation menu not showing up
-
I’m having lots of issues with my site navigation showing up on any devices outside of what I’m editing on. I used the Kamala theme. Thank you for your help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I understand you’re having issues with the site navigation not appearing correctly on devices other than the one you’re editing on, while using the Kamala theme. To help us narrow this down, could you please share a bit more detail?
Specifically:
- What exactly isn’t working with the navigation?
- Is the menu missing, partially visible, or not clickable?
- Does it look different than expected?
- Which devices are affected?
- Mobile, tablet, desktop, or all of them?
- Which browser(s) are you using?
- Editing vs viewing
- Does the navigation look correct in the editor but not on the live site?
- Does it appear correctly when you’re logged out?
Once we have this information, we can take a closer look and guide you toward a fix.
Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you!
- What exactly isn’t working with the navigation?
- Is the menu missing, partially visible, or not clickable? The menu displays (if you look at http://www.nickiescuderoyoga.com, you can see the two lines on the top left, but when you click, nothing happens.
- Does it look different than expected? No. The main issue is there’s no clickability.
- Which devices are affected?
- Mobile, tablet, desktop, or all of them? All of them.
- Which browser(s) are you using? I’ve tested on Google Chrome, Safari and Microsoft Edge.
- Editing vs viewing
- Does the navigation look correct in the editor but not on the live site? Yes.
- Does it appear correctly when you’re logged out? No.

Hi there! Thanks for your patience. I’ve checked your site and can confirm that the navigation menu is opening correctly when clicking the two lines on the top left.
If it’s still not working for you, this is likely due to cached data in your browser. Please try clearing your browser cache, then reload the page. I also recommend opening the site in an incognito or private window, or testing from a different device or network.
Once the cache refreshes, the menu should behave as expected. Let us know if you still see the issue after trying those steps, and we’ll be happy to take another look.

I tried this. It still doesn’t work. When I’m logged in to my WordPress account, it works. But when I’m trying to use navigation as any other user (on different browsers, incognito, different devices, etc.) it doesn’t work. I’ve has several other people test this for me, as well.

I confirm that when I’m logged in to your website, the navigation menu works as expected. However, if I visit your site as a logged-out user, the navigation menu no longer works.
Upon further checking, I noticed that you have another optimization plugin from a third-party developer installed and activated on your website. Sometimes, optimization plugins can cause site display issues on a website.
As part of the troubleshooting procedure, please try to:
- temporarily deactivate the plugins from third-party developers
- clear the site cache: https://wordpress.com/support/clear-your-sites-cache/
- check your site in an incognito window or different browser, and see if the navigation menu is now working as expected
You can also follow this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/plugins/troubleshooting/ to test out the themes and plugins on the website to isolate the issue.
I hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

@jonalynpuyong Thank you so much for your help! That worked!
It’s weird, the navigation now works on most devices and browsers, except for an iPad I have that’s more than 10 years old (Safari). It does work on newer iPads, so I’m not so worried.
I deactivated every single third-party plug-in. Do you think it’s safe to reinstall them? Or will this happen again? Thanks, Nicki

Hey @nickiescudero2016, I’m glad it worked out for you!
For your older iPad, it could be a caching issue on that device. You could try clearing the cache there and testing it again.
Regarding the third-party plugins, I can’t guarantee they will work perfectly since they aren’t developed by us at WordPress.com. In general, they’re safe to use, but some are heavy on site optimization and caching. In such cases, you may need to clear or reset the plugin cache again for your changes to take effect.
