Harley Quinn, whose real name is Harleen Quinzel, was introduced as the Joker's companion and lover in the animated series Batman: The Animated Series in 1992, and since then, she has evolved significantly.

Before becoming Harley Quinn, Harleen Quinzel was a psychiatrist at Gotham City's Arkham Asylum, where she met the Joker. As she treated the Clown Prince of Crime, she fell in love with him, which led her to help him escape and transform into his loyal accomplice, adopting the identity of Harley Quinn. Over the years, Harley has been portrayed as a villain, an antihero, and an independent character who struggles to find her own path away from the Joker�s toxic influence.

Over time, Harley has gained popularity and formed alliances with other key DC characters, such as Poison Ivy and Catwoman. She is known for her chaotic personality, carefree attitude, and combat prowess. Harley Quinn has evolved from a mere sidekick to a complex, strong, and autonomous character within the DC universe.
